As lifelong doodler with no athletic ability, I’ve always gravitated toward art. I’ve paid my mortgage as a graphic designer for several years, but like any person who thinks they are creative, I wanted to have a space to do ‘my own thing.’ Enter illustration. By day, I work my day job. At night, I spend time hunched over my iPad or graphic tablet and drawing and creating what I want to.
I’ve always been a fan of pop culture and alternative movie posters, so naturally, that’s what I tend to draw. My style was always cartoonish and line-work-based. Lately, I’ve been practicing a more painterly style with portraits. I’ve even been proud of a few of them too!
I started making gifts for family and friends and that led to small print runs and art fairs. This is what I want to be doing ‘when I grow up’ and I work toward that goal every day.
I’m open to commissions and working more and more as an illustrator…Maybe even in the daylight for a change!
